Iranian Radio
Iranian Radio Spring 2012 Schedule: Every Saturday from 2:30-4 pm.
Iranian radio program is run on WUVT radio station on FM 90.7. WUVT. WUVT is the radio station of Virginia Tech and their office is located on the third floor of squires. Check their website or office for more info about them.
Iranian Society at Virginia Tech is proud to be the first organization which has produced an international radio show on WUVT since more than 40 years ago. In that regard the Persian Show is presenting news from and about Iran, culture shows, events related to Iranian Society in and around Blacksburg, and more.
Since the Persian Show as an independent unbiased media is not directly affiliated with the constitution of the society, it has been a tremendous opportunity to invite celebrities, artists, and even political activists on the air and interview them about the happenings in and out of our home country on occasional basis.
Unfortunately, the Persian Show has been off the air since last spring due to the lack of producer and we are dedicated to bring the program back on the air and to make it even better. For this purpose it is our pleasure to announce that Reza Soltan, our last producer on the radio show, has kindly accepted to run the show again; however, we need volunteers to help him with co-hosting, and if interested taking over the show after him. This is indeed a great experience to learn more about how to produce a radio show.
The new season of the Persian Show will be on the air in a few months from January 2012. If you are interested in co-hosting the show with Reza, please send him an email to soltan@vt.edu . Also, feel free to send him an email with
suggestions on the type of music/program you are interested in.
